Privacy Policy
MyPrayerBank helps you pray along with recorded prayers, phrase by phrase, in your own tradition and language. This policy explains what we collect when you use the MyPrayerBank app and website, why, who else handles it, and how to delete it.
MyPrayerBank is operated by Ampus EDA Consulting LLC, which is responsible for the information described here. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Ampus EDA Consulting LLC throughout this policy.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work and to be personal to you. We do not show advertising, we do not sell your information, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Families are welcome. The prayers suit children from about five, and many people use MyPrayerBank with their children. The account, however, belongs to an adult: everything below describes information given by the adult who holds it. See Children.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, and how you signed up.
- Your password. It is stored by our authentication provider in hashed form, and we never see it.
What you tell us when you set up
- Your first name, used to address you. Other users do not see it.
- A display name of your choosing. Other members can see it in shared spaces such as community circles.
- Your faith tradition, the languages you pray in and read, your script preference, how experienced you are, what you hope prayer brings you and the time of day you prefer.
- If you choose to answer: your gender, age range and profession. Each can be skipped.
Your faith tradition is information about your religious beliefs. We use it only to show you prayers, guides and artwork from your tradition. You give it by choosing it during setup. To change or remove it, email us.
The setup conversation
Setup happens as a conversation. The messages you type are stored with your account and are sent to our AI provider, which works out your answers from them. We record how much processing (measured in tokens) each of those requests used, so we know what it costs. We do not keep a separate copy of the conversation for any other purpose.
Before the conversation starts, the app tells you this and asks for your agreement. We record when you agreed and to which version of that notice. If you do not agree, you can sign out, and nothing you would have typed is sent.
Your practice
- The prayers you open and play, how far you get through them, your streaks, the minutes you have prayed, and the badges you earn.
- The prayers you favourite and the guides you follow.
- Workshops you register for. The guide running that workshop can see your registration.
- Community circles you create or join, and gatherings in them, including their names and any meeting links you add. Members of a circle can see these. The person who hosts a circle can also see the display names of the people in it.
- Reports and blocks. If you report a circle or a gathering, we keep the report, your reason, any note you add, and the reported name or title as it read at that moment, so we can review it. The host is not told who reported. If you block someone, we keep that so they cannot bring you back into their circles.
- Messages from guides you follow, and whether you have read them.
Aura Space
If you use Aura Space, we store the names you enter, their relationship to you, and the photographs you add. They are private to your account: no other user, and no guide, can see them. Photos are kept in private storage and are erased when you delete your account.
Approximate location
We read your device's time zone and use it to work out which country you are probably in. This is used to show times correctly and to understand, in aggregate, where our users are. We do not use GPS or your precise location.
Invitations
- If you share an invitation link and someone opens it, we record that the link was opened. To count each person only once, we store a salted one-way hash of the network address it was opened from, never the address itself.
- If someone invited you, they can see whether you have been praying and whether you have a membership. They never see which prayers or at what time. You can turn this off in Profile.
Memberships
If you have a membership, payment is handled by a payment processor. We receive the status of the membership, its amount and currency, and when it renews or ends. If you give a phone number during payment, we store it with your account. We never receive or store your full card number.
Notifications and email
- If you allow notifications in a web browser, we store the subscription details the browser gives us so we can send them.
- We send email for your account (such as confirming your address or resetting your password) and reminders you have asked for.
When something goes wrong
If a feature fails, the app records a short error code and description with your account so we can find and fix the problem. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising tools.
App updates
The iOS app checks our own server for updates to its content. The check includes the app's version and platform. We do not store device identifiers from it.
How we use it
- To run the app: your account, prayers, progress, reminders and community features.
- To make it personal: prayers, guides and language that fit you.
- To keep it working and secure, and to fix problems.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used, so we can improve it.
- To reply when you contact us.
Who else handles it
We use service providers to run MyPrayerBank. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, file storage and server functions.
- Vercel: hosts our website.
- Anthropic: the AI provider that processes the setup conversation.
- Resend: delivers our email.
- A payment processor, if you have a membership.
Some content opens services we do not run, and those services have their own privacy policies. This includes videos embedded from YouTube and meeting links a guide or circle member shares.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account.
You can delete your account in the app: go to Profile and scroll to Danger zone. Deleting your account erases your profile, your practice history, streaks and favourites, your setup conversation, your membership records and your Aura Space photographs. It cannot be undone.
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid membership. If you have one, cancel it first.
Copies may remain in our providers' backups for a short time until they are overwritten on their normal schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Change your display name and profession in Profile. To change anything else you told us during setup, email us.
- Turn off what the person who invited you can see, in Profile.
- Turn notifications off in your device or browser settings.
- Delete your account in the app, as described above.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your information, including to object to how it is used or to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
MyPrayerBank is made for families, and its prayers are suitable for children from about five years old. A child is meant to use the app alongside a parent or guardian, on that adult's account.
Accounts are for adults. You must be 18 or over to create one. We do not offer accounts to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child who has set one up on their own. If you believe a child has created an account or given us information, email administer@prayer-oke.com and we will delete it.
Because the account is the adult's, the information in this policy is the information that adult gave us. If a child sits with you and prays, nothing separate is collected about the child: the practice, streaks and progress recorded are those of the account.
Two things are worth an adult's attention before handing over a device. Community circles carry names and gathering titles written by other members, and a circle may include a meeting link that opens outside the app. Aura Space holds photographs you add. Both are for you to manage, not a child.
If you are a LampLighter
When you review your creator profile, we may send your headline, bio and specialties to Anthropic to check that the text reads clearly. Your name is not included in this check. This advice does not decide whether you may become a Guide. We retain the result privately for you and our care team, including whether you chose to continue anyway. Anthropic does not use this information to train its models.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit. Access to it is restricted at the database level, so each account can reach only its own private data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how your information is used, we will let you know, by email or in the app.
